cromptonnut
Apologies Dave777, I didn't mean to! Jim Read - I've had a little rethink and although much of the plan will remain, I think I can use a few visual tricks - and a combination of old boards - to make a 'split level' layout which is a bit of a cheat but enables me to do a few things I wanted to do but couldn't figure how to with everything on the same level. I just have a couple of inch height difference I need to overcome - but think I should be able to. By the way, the only loco going into the goods yard is my Ruston shunter which is about 6" long so I calculate it and 2 wagons at a time - although I do take your point and am looking at alternatives. Am going to look at the track plan when I've eaten, and then hopefully do a little more work on the shunter.
