My layout is the size of a double bed because it usurped the guest bed in my house. It hardly ever got used and the only guests I want are the ones who are happy to share my bed :)

Since my layout is a hybrid cookie-cutter/open benchwork type of construction, the grade transitions are natural and follow the bend of the plywood as the grade comes up. The transitions are almost imperceptible but they are there and work well. Never a derailment or a truck lifting from the rails.

 

No math was harmed designing this railroad.
