What colour/s for BR steam loco crew?

I've just started using Modelu figures for my steam locos in 4mm and they're very good IMHO.  My problem is I can't seem to get their clothing colour 'right'.  I seem to be mixing colours that end up too light ot too dark

 

What colours do other prople use?  (Pref acrylics but enamels ok).

Hi Metroland,

 

The overalls provided were made from drill cotton which dyed dark indigo blue as denim jeans still are today. In time and after a lot of hot washes they would eventually end up almost white, again in the way stonewash jeans look, I would suggest any colour that looks like any degree of fade of denim would do well enough.

The other thing to note is that any one pair of overalls would not necessarily be of the same exact shade to another.

Those look good. Theres another thread on here somewhere asking the same thing. I just mix navy and white randomly for the base colour then whenever I am weathering stock, I run a grubby wash over my figures.
