The Black Hat
Hello all, I am wiring up a number of DCC Train tech signals which are being connected to track and then powered and operated using my ECoS controller. However, when programming the signals, such as signal 10 and 11, changing one will then automatically change the next number in sequence. This is going to be very problematic... Can someone offer advice, or is it a case whereby signals will need to be programmed with a gap so that there is a break between each and that ECoS does not then automatically change those that follow, such as 0, 2, 4 or 0, 3, 6, 9...? Thanks in advance.
RMweb Gold pheaton Posted May 18, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 18, 2021 (edited) Are the train tech signals linked to each other via a linking cable? Edited May 18, 2021 by pheaton
The Black Hat
No. Just all into the track wiring. No not linked at all from one signal to the next. Only way they are connected is that they take their power from the track - as that comes from ECoS they are all connected to the controller, thus ECoS is trying to be helpful and changing others numbered in sequence. RMweb Gold pheaton Posted May 18, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 18, 2021 Hi David... thats curious I didn't know the ECoS would do that....have you got them configured in a route?
The Black Hat
No. They are just numbered in sequence. So you turn signal 1 from red to green and signal 2 will then show a yellow aspect even though you have left it at red. Have checked more settings tonight and still looks like ECoS is just wanting to be helpful by changing the next signal in number. Going to start looking at a numbering system to space them all out.
