I came across this great collection of images from the transition era taken by Graham Clark and featured by Alan Monk on Flickr, I thought it worth posting here as a resource for transtion era modellers and to start a thread others might wish to add to:

Graham Clark - Diesels

Click on the image to get to the album on Flickr.

cheers,

Keith

From Robert Carroll of this parish. Is this a GFYE 46?  If so, it appears to have a blue rectangular plate over the boiler grille.

Just noticed that the rear coach appears to be a maroon mk1.  Gfye loco with blue boiler blanking plate, blue & grey stock apart from 1 vehicle - model this scene and await the comments!

Must be - it's 116 which according to derbysulzers list was GYFE from 8/69-10/70.

https://www.derbysulzers.com/45headcode.html (scroll down for Livery Details).

Not unknown to happen but usually with bigger stuff like cab doors!

its deffo a 46, battery boxes and the extra cover on the roof, are the giveaways. And was GYFE till around 10/70 went it went in for dual braking and transfer from Holbeck to Gateshead.

I think @keefer's finger slipped and he meant 166, which was definitely in this 'economy' Gfye livery and this certainly looks like that one.

116 was of course a Class 45 and Class 45s in Gfye livery made hen's teeth look common! 25 definitely was (unlined green, no Ds), I've seen 26 rumoured and Russell Saxton formerly of this parish was on a personal crusade to discover whether his vague memory of seeing green 100 with full yellow on one end only was true or false - he never did find out, sadly. My own first sighting of 100 was at Derby 55 years and 12 days ago, not long after it had been repainted blue. I caught what appeared to be the last remaining green 45s inside Derby Works that day, I don't think any made it into the 1970s. Personally I would only ever see one green Class 45 in traffic, D119 coming off Bristol Bath Road on 19th July 1969, the day before man first set foot on the moon (allegedly.....🤐!)
