RMweb Premium Hal Nail Posted October 15, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 15, 2021 (edited) I went to Didcot to measure up a few coaches this week for pontential 7mm models, one of which was the Collett K40 full brake. This is the bow end 60' body type of the same family as the Lionheart B set coaches. Didcot are converting theirs into a post office variant and much of the body seems to be new, so a bit Triggers Broom, but I hope they have put it back together roughly right! I was surprised that the "single" guards compartment door towards the middle is actually a normal door alongside another 6 inch wide opening flap. I can't tell from the various photos around if this is normal/original or a later modification. It's not shown on any of the kit etches or drawings. Don't suppose anyone can confirm? Edit: you can just about tell from here that it is wider than a single door. https://didcotrailwaycentre.org.uk/article.php/139/no-1184-collett-full-brake Edited October 15, 2021 by Hal Nail 1
