cliff park
Can anybody identify this? A friend, retired carpenter, found this when tidying his workshop. He says he has no idea what it is, or where he got it from. The body and handle are wood, possibly rosewood. The other prong, the one without the crocodile clip appears to be broken off. All three screws have pointed ends. I have yet to see this in person, working from this:- Edited January 8, 2022 by cliff park Spelling error
Dutch_Master
Probably a DIY piece to go with a lathe of sorts.
CameronL
I think it's an ignition spark tester, used for checking if IC engines are producing enough electricity to make the spark. It was connected to the HV system using the crocodile clips and the spark jumped across the electrodes, which had screw threads to make them adjustable. From the look it's quite old. Add on - a bit of digging revealed this, which was apparently used on a Model T Ford. Edited January 8, 2022 by CameronL Added a bit 1
