lather
Does anyone have any info on the sizes and types of containers carried by the ex-Rectank Conflat C wagons? Most of the available pictures are of them in later departmental use, and pictures of them actually carrying containers are as rare as RHS. About the only one I've ever seen is the one on Paul Bartlett's site of B909017 carrying an insulated container (https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/brfreightliner/h37099cda) - which given the deck length must be a 27-foot one. Did they ever carry 20-foot Freightliner or ISO boxes, and if so were they mounted centrally or to one end?
SP Steve
Dave Larkin's data sheet states that the CONFLAT C code was reused in 1973 for Rectanks slightly modified to take whisky containers between Invergordon and Greenock. Later TOPS codes were FWP (FY001A) and FZP (FZ001A) and he has them finishing this traffic around 1978. It seems the only modification made was to fix spigots to the floor to locate the containers.
