RMweb Gold C126 Posted May 22, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 22, 2022 Please can anyone recommend a source of ready-to-use model finials, to top off the parapets of my under-bridge, thus? Scale is OO, width of parapets 2" (51mm.), depth 5/8". Is there a specialist modelling supplier that makes coping stones or short finials for such scratch-building? On a related matter, I hoped to obtain some onion-shaped fishing floats for the same purpose, for a planned Orientalist-style warehouse, without luck. Did I imagine the shape from a friend's fishing expeditions forty years ago? Has anyone else tried to sculpt an onion-shaped dome for architectural modelling? A colleague (ex-professional model-maker) suggested using a bead and hand-forming from modelling clay the point. I am hoping for a Brighton Royal Pavilion effect, thus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Pavilion#/media/File:Brighton_royal_pavilion_Qmin.jpg (The shape, not ornamentation, I hasten to add!) Many thanks for any suggestions, and giving this your consideration.

Nick Holliday
Scalelink do some nice capping stones with lots of relief, but mainly 8" square ones (6mm) https://www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/Scenic___Scale_1_76__OO_.html The brick piers look a bit tall. I would have expected them to stop around the top of the girder.
