Two excellent vintage train shows for your enjoyment...

Saturday June 26th Alresford ( Hampshire ), more details Alresford 2010

Saturday July 3rd Sandy ( Bedfordshire ), more details here

Alresford is mainly 'toy trains from our past', with over 90 train sales tables. Excellent BBQ and real ale, plus live music. Also LGB, and proximity to Mid hants Railway

Sandy is a mix of scale models, and 'toy trains from our past'. Scale layout this year includes Deepcar...1500v overhead with EM1 and EM2's. Plus many traders with old and recent models.

Mods...I could have placed this in the exhibitions section, but perhaps this is a more relevant part of the forum.

Show report with extra pictures here with extra photes on a second page...see the link at the bottom of page 1.

The Triang series 3 layout is 24 feet long, and 6 feet wide. We started assembling the layout at 17:30 on Friday, up until 21:00, then finished off at 07:30, and by 10:30 most trains were running well.

It's as much as two people can do in the timeallowed. If you would like to help set up next year, we will be very pleased!

Multiple power feeds for each loop ( there are 3 ), with an automatic end to end shuttle. Points are non isolating, trains are stopped in switchable dead sections.

The 'engine sheds' are infact carriage sheds, although vandals have been attacking the buildings, and smashed some of the glazing, and stolen the chimneys.

Look carefully and you can see series 3 third radius....or is it?

The next vintage show promoted by the Train Collectors Society will be the Autumn meeting in Leicester on Saturday November 6th. Several layouts, trade stalls with old and recent models, bring and buy stall, and excellent catering.
