As my original thread is considerably out-dated, please find a refreshed one. A couple of images of a mixed train to be going on with, but those of a delicate disposition should look away now.....

A little weathering is needed I feel.

View to the right hand end of the layout. With the layout era moving back in time two buildings, the three storey factory (unfinished) and Nissen hut will need replacing. I believe Nissen huts only appeared  from 1916 onwards, whilst the factories concrete with brick curtain structure only became prevalent in the UK from the 1920s onwards (possibly earlier in the USA).

Alternatively I could move the era to the very early 1920's (still pre-grouping) which would mean the buildings could stay and I could use some of those Rapido late SECR wagons... decisions, decisions???

Also first photo bottom right shows my high tech turnout operating equipment.

Quick update - this layout has now been sold and I believe the new owner will be starting their own thread for it. A link for that may soon appear on this thread.

Meanwhile 7mm scale is being contemplated.......

With the sale of the layout this thread is now closed. The 7mm excursion progressed no further than the previous thread as I lost my railway modelling mojo completely.

Things have taken an unexpected direction and I am now building some 16mm scale (1/19th) narrow gauge items. The locos are battery operated and controlled from my phone using Loco-remote WI-FI control. I may start a thread on this development when progress occurs.
