Wheatley
This one - https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/65623/37-074-Bachmann-5-Plank-Wagon-Wooden-Floor-number-587---Binley I know the colliery was real, my parents lived next door to it and both my grandads worked down it, but I've never seen a photo of the real wagon. There is an O gauge model of one in the NRM (also a 5 plank) but I assume there must be a published photo of one somewhere which Bachmann have based this on. Does anyone know where please ? It's outside my 1955-65 period so none of my references are any help, and google is only turning up photos of BR wagons in the pit yard and lots of Bachmann ones ! Thanks :-)
Nick Holliday
Binley is covered in Keith Turton’s Eleventh book, with a couple of photos, in a more complex livery and a sketch, which I think forms the basis of the model. Another, simpler, sketch appears in Thomas’s Third sketchbook- same livery, different livery and style of wagon.
