RMweb Premium Dava Posted September 15, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 15, 2022 I am shocked by today’s announcement of the closure by Molson Coors of the National Brewery Centre, museum & venue for the wonderful Burton model railway exhibition. Disgraceful, Binny please advise, tell us it aint so! https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1668696/National-Brewery-Centre-closure-beer-home-campaign-Burton-upon-Trent
binny
I am sorry to have to inform you that the Burton Model RailEx 2022 is now cancelled. Molson Coors still own the site and they have plans to turn it into office accommodation. So much history contained in a unique venue-it is such a shame that it is to be lost. There is an online petition which can be found on Staffordshire Live or Burton Live. The site closes as a museum on October 30th and then the site will be cleared before alteration work can begin. We have no choice but to cancel the RailEx and are currently trying to contact all exhibitors, traders and public to inform them of the circumstances. Thank you to all exhibitors and traders and visitors who have supported us since our first show in 2011. Binny
