RMweb Premium Trainshed Terry Posted August 8, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 8, 2022 Dose anyone know the paint number for "Railmatch Desert Sand Paint" in acrylic as I have cone a internet search with no luck. As I need to paint the front valances on "Heljan Western in desert sand". Or is there an alternative paint that I could use. Terry.

Halvarras
I have a jar of Railmatch Desert Sand enamel numbered 319 - the acrylic equivalent should therefore be numbered 2319. The Howes connection between Heljan and Railmatch at the time should ensure a good match. That's the good news - the bad news is that neither code number is currently listed on Howes' website. My own jar was used to respray a Hornby Western in April 1995 (I always mark the date of opening on the lid) so it looks like the use of the colour on just one BR loco (and a preserved Class 14) resulted in a lack of demand, at least in Railmatch's judgment. Edited August 10, 2022 by Halvarras One BR loco, not two - got my Sands and Ochres confused. Classic.
