Evening Folks, the Trent Valley Group is delighted to announce our next modelling day - Saturday 28th January 2023.

We’ll be in our usual location of Our Lady of Lourdes Church Hall, Mickleover, Derby.

10am to 4pm, and entry cost is £5 per adult (children are free).

TVAG Modelling Day Poster v4

There’ll be (as usual), plenty of tea, coffee, bacon butties and a good selection of cakes to tempt you all with.

We have a limited car park on site, but there is a regular and decent bus service from Derby City Centre (the Mickleover - bright pink buses so you can’t miss them!). If you’re getting the train the nearest station is Derby itself, and the Bus Station to catch the Mickleover bus is a short (10mins) walk away.

  • NeilHB changed the title to Trent Valley Group Modelling Day - 28th January 2023
  • RMweb Gold

Just a little note to confirm that after a bit of discussion over the weekend, we've decided to rebrand this as a modelling day, and that's not a 7mmNGA exclusive event, but is more encompassing. We're still supported by the 7mmNGA, but hopefully this may encourage more folks to come along.

Look forward to seeing you all there!

Time for a bump - not long to go now folks!

Phil Traxson has now confirmed that he's bringing his small 7mm standard gauge layout 'Black Drake Wharf' as well as the Port Wynnstay stand.

I foresee that there will be much burning of the midnight oil in this house between now and then whilst I aim to ensure that Elsbridge is finished.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 28th January - come armed with full wallets and empty tums as there'll be plenty of cake and bacon butties to eat!

Should you need any more encouragement to join us at Mickleover tomorrow. My star baker wife Liz has produced Victoria Sponge, Coffee & Walnut and Lemon Drizzle tray bake cakes for us to enjoy.

If you don’t come, then Annabel and I will be forced to eat them instead so please come and save us from ourselves. 🎂 🍰 🧁 🚂

I went for the key earlier and then went to collect the tables we have to borrow from the local model railway club. Had two trips back to the hall and so we now have 12x6ft tables 100 cobs 10 kg of bacon 12 pints milk plus tea coffee and sauce for bacon but I forgot to get the sugar! The lady who runs the office at the church caught me unloading when she finished for the day to point out that we had booked just one hour from 7.30 to set up not 4.30 !!

Early start in the morning - as I'm the key holder, I suppose I should be there first.

Recommended event, looks like 100g of bacon per bap! I have seen some exhibitors have more than one…best to leave room for the cake!
