The decoder will likely be one of these

which, by all reports, are commonly ripped bodily from the loco and replaced with typically a TSU Genset or ESU LokSound V5 Genset decoder... ("MRC Decoders" and "good reputation for reliability" are two phrases rarely uttered in the same sentence with a legit straight face...).

The fact that CV6, commonly "MID Speed Voltage", is repurposed as some MRC-unique "speed reaction curve" variable likely is not helping matters.

I would strongly suggest following the manual's reccomendation to perform a factory reset:

- Using a _Programming Track_ (NOT "Program on the Main")

- Program CV125 = 1

- Tilt the loco off the track so one side set-of-wheels are clear of the rail, for at least 30 seconds

(This is the decoder-equivalent of "have you turned it OFF and turned it back ON again?" power-cycle).

- DO NOT adjust the Start Volts + Accel + Kick-Volts values

(we are literally wanting to test and confirm Raw Baseline behaviour!)

and retest...
