Hi all,

See Calender......

https://www.rmweb.co.uk/events/event/2661-ngs-forth-clyde-area-group-modellers-skills-day/

Yes - it's all down to me and my pals in the NGS - Forth & Clyde Area Group......

Hopefully this all works out as it may set a pattern for future events - we shall see!

So far, we have several offers to do demonstrations covering a range of subjects - but - all subject to confirmation/change on the day.

What do we potentially have already?

A 3D printing demo
A painting and weathering demo (handpainted and weathering)
A kit building demo in N
A DCC Doctor Clinic - Help and information for the converted amonst us
TBC - A Laser Cutting demo
TBC - An Airbrush Painting demo

We will also have a couple of surprise demos!
It will be a surprise - even to me.  All I have is the offer from the modellers involved

There will be an Information stand - Societies can put their information/flyers/info on here.

Admission is FREE.....

What is at the venue?
OnSite Cafe
Knightly Gaming has a good selection of modelling materials available.
Paint/Glues/Tools, Scenic materials, plastic modeliing materials.

Please Note - Bathgate Indoor Xmas Market is being held on the same date at the venue.

So, even if you just pop in to say Hello - you will be welcome.....

Thanks
Phil H

Well - our Skills day at Bathgate came and went!

Thanks to everyone who took part - your support is really appreciated.

To those of you who could not make it - you missed a good meet up of like minded modellers. Some of us did get some modelling done and we all did a lot of talking!

My own personal feeling is that it was a partial success, but an event that can be repeated and improved in several ways.

I know today was a bit of a mess about - several people who had offered to demo things could not attend - various reasons inc weather.

I never managed to get myself set up to demo - too many other people wanted to talk to me.

I did manage to get to sit down a couple of times, but did a heck of a lot of walking about!

I know as my step count was 200% of daily target at 17,192 for the day! At my stride length that is 17192m!

The concept of the skills day proved to be a successful format for both the group and the venue.

The organisation of what's on at a skills day needs to be better.

Demonstrations need to be available as planned and advised

Event timing may need tweaked - Start earlier, finish earlier, finish later?

With this all in mind......

We have provisionally booked another session for Saturday 14th January 2023.

Thanks

Phil H
