Weird OTT level crossing lights and sounder design in Missouri

In the 1930s, this level crossing was always being ignored by drivers so someone put up an OTT design using neon lit skull and crossbones with the word "Death" on the gantry! To top it off an air raid siren was used as a sounder!!

It was used until 1970 when it was replaced by standard lights and sounder. Just as well, there are now houses nearby!
