Bratchell Models Class 319 - enhancements

Hi all,

I have a Bratchell Models Class 319 that I picked up from ebay some years ago, and put together with a black beetle motor. I've hardly run it on the layout to be honest, and am hoping now to give it a bit of TLC and make a few enhancements. In particular I'd like to install lighting (head and tail lights), and upgrade the pickup arrangements. Before I embark on this, I just wondered if anyone on here had done a similar thing, and may be able to offer some advice?

I'm particularly undecided about which product to use for the lighting. My layout is DC at the moment, although I do plan to move over to DCC at some point in the near future. If anyone's installed lighting in one of these units, and can recommend a good solution, I'd be really interested to hear from you! You can see my 319 in the background on a lot of the shots on my layout thread 'Sevenoaks', and also in the videos. I'd quite to be running it more often as centre stage though, as it is a rather lovely model.

Kind regards,

Tim
