ellocoloco
Hi I have been looking at a number of 1/87 containers on Ebay from Chinese shippers. These are the kind of adverts I mean: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373448555889?hash=item56f344bd71:g:IDcAAOSwa~hhQbQ6&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8JtxYhSGLnJh2BYoeFzTMZ1WlBI%2BIThJwe5b1%2BHUa6SeCHFV%2FaGc8eNHF8Jpcqdg6SP5bDB8VkF2tvIzCimXqC9knTtI9MzCJBDmKGd9OhgSbTv4otf%2FImy0j%2FRczqMwQ7jesH9ycUSR1HqK9dE0ymFpYebE9GahqTsKojX58B0uGpBixs86Xgu4mInzO%2BzZ%2FR1CHvkgQnDQzHdmEoUiB7n%2BxpIa%2F%2F7ubtmkTLfyMKEYO4l14dd%2BFGusygSW5MPKDAlqQFL7XToSVMVJjqWsUIVp5yyOOrGUbw%2BbTEwzW2Y3xsaNmGQZL%2FfDlt7xF4owSw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR6Ka84-yYQ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/312544728143?hash=item48c51e144f:g:iM8AAOSwaztiE1YV&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8AcVtiHtlruUZeO1P5lb6qtYvmVETx8h7WhBVaYAbwkfCpOREZsj8cnzgAZMokPlgb53zS9MIHJT3zwPREXLUJz64uzU71XMA%2BTbvEu6X%2BpvogkL6DGjc9fN8f5kPo4QC5DgfT%2BNgEi5pOMFNLm%2F%2B0OFkTEdin%2FpT%2FpVGzlNaUw5W5yd9VlO7xP9jkn487iTyJjjXtJOLGwA%2F9SJ8LvoNBWiJ9Ij9lAK5%2F8cYbDFXavdTR1rH5YMpMXZGYsfP2M%2BJWo9gVSkPAQs3Sd58B%2F4rZRGpnO5q7eW26ABctN%2FRPjtc8e6kciKCZmuUS0TRMl3bQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABFBMoJrzj7Jh They look were similar to ones I have bought in the past from C-Rail. Does anyone have any thought on these, and similar? Edited January 8, 2023 by ellocoloco My links didn't work....do'h
RMweb Premium Andy Hayter Posted January 8, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 8, 2023 (edited) It is not clear in your post whether Chinese shippers means model containers made in China or whether you mean models of containers used to ship goods from China. If the latter, then all of the brands that I recognise are essentially internal use in NA or Europe with few straying further. ellocoloco
Hi Andy, Sorry, I mean the models are being sold by a retailer in China.
Gordonwis
I bit the bullet a few years ago and bought the N scale versions. This triggered a debate on an N gauge forum as to whether these models are 'knocked out' by a Chinese factory as a sideline to producing stuff for European manufacturers, are close copies, clones etc , but our discussions were inconclusive. Notwithstanding, my N gauge ones are close to scale and do not appear to be an exact copy of anything labelled as Fleischmann, Minitrix etc Edited January 11, 2023 by Gordonwis
ellocoloco
Thanks @Gordonwis. I reckon I'll get a few to try - they are even cheaper on Ali Express! I'll post my findings.

ellocoloco
I went ahead and ordered a 3pk of 40' hi cubes from Evemodel on Aliexpress. £24.01 delivered to the UK in 12 days. I have recently moved house and almost all my trains are still in boxes so I can't compare directly to my existing models but I am quite happy with the appearance and think they do represent value for money. These appear to have the same types of mounts as those used by Electrotren. A short peg on the bottom of each corner and corresponding recesses at the top of each corner for stacking. I will be getting some more soon. Apologies for the standard of pictures. Edited January 25, 2023 by ellocoloco Presentation
SimonBoulton
They look pretty good. I think Igra make containers too but don't know how they compare price wise.
