lining ratio coaches, what paint colours

Currently looking to make some Ratio Midland coaches.

 

The period has yet to be decided but can somebody tell me which colour paint and make is best used for the lining in -

 

1. the midland period

 

2. the LMS period.

 

Or are lining transfer packs a better way to go and if so whose.

 

Also who is best for transfers for numbering for both periods.
