Layout backscene material

Would like some suggestions for types of board to use as a backing for photographic backscenes. I have considered thin MDF and also thin bathroom panelling, about 2mm as I particularly want to curve the scene around corners.

There is always the option of acetate / PVC sheeting, usually available at garden centres as it can be used in greenhouses in place of glass.

 

I bought some a while back ½mm thick and 28"x14" in size (it wasn't metric, I measured). It only cost £1 for 5-sheets as, I think, they were surplus plastic from some face shield manufacturer (Covid ...).

Thanks for suggestions. I have settled on 3mm white faced hardboard, £19 for 8’x4’ sheet, I will cut lengthways which will give me about 16” each strip if I cut 3 ways.
