westerngauntlet
Can anyone help with suggestions for removing the body of the Hornby R2644 121 "Bubble Car". I have removed 2 screws underneath. and can open a gap of 1mm or so down each side of body/chassis (wedged with half a dozen cocktail sticks). But it still seems firmly attached at each cab end. This is the latest DCC ready unit. Im trying to install DCC into it. Eddie
Adrian Wintle
There is a tab on the front of the chassis that fits into a slot in the bodyshell, and there is a clip at the rear (exhaust) end that engages with the bodyshell. You have to lever the rear to free the clip (you may break the clip in the process - it is no big deal), and then swing the rear down to allow the body to slide clear of the front tab. You may find it easier/safer to remove the exhausts before you do this (they should just pull out). Adrian
cromptonnut
There's a tab at each cab end - for mine, I used a flat bladed screwdriver at, I think, the "brake" end and it popped the tab loose and the body up over and could then be released. As always, do it carefully, at own risk, etc etc.

westerngauntlet
Thanks worked a treat. Although one exhaust left its lugs in the body shell. Just needs tiny dab of glue. Needed painting (weathering in any case) cant ever remember them having stainless exhausts. Think I'll remove clip for future access. Eddie
