Stanley Melrose
Hi, I noticed that York Model Making <http://www.yorkmodelmaking.com/largeimages/rail7.jpg> are advertising flexible corridor connections for US outline coaches. I emailed them and asked if they had plans to produce versions for UK prototypes and received a reply that M G Sharp were distributing UK versions. A peek at their website <http://www.kato-unitrack.co.uk/a1-models-a8230-mk-1-close-corridor-connections-25474-0.html> shows the range. Has anyone purchased any of these and, if so, are they any good? I hope they are as £2.80 per coach seems a reasonable price but I'd like to see a review before purchasing any. Cheers, Stan

Matt
I bought some of the A1 models (which I think are the ones you are talking about) corridor connections for the 158 sprinter last year and fitted them. For the money I feel you don't get much as they are basically some type of thick paper that you fold up into the concertina together with a smooth plastic end plate to buff up to next connection. When I fitted them I wasn't impressed until I put the unit on the track at the end and coupled up - they actually look pretty good. I had to demolish my layout shortly after fitting but the running I did with them for a short time did not throw up any concerns even through 1st radius curves and small radius peco points. Overall I have mixed feelings as they look quite good when coupled up but you would never want them exposed at the end of a train, and since they are a permanent feature once fitted, they really would only work for those who run fairly fixed formations. They also feel quite expensive for what they are. Matt
