Hornby HST DVT and Buffered HST Common Chassis?

Recommended Posts

Hello all I have a set of R3944 HST intercity swallow with buffers and the body of a R40162 HST DVT and was wondering if anyone knows if the chassis is interchangeable on the dummy cars? I am conscious the lights need to connect correctly.

Thanks

I think your good here.

both are recent releases.

The R29xx series had different light fittings, and the recent upgraded tooling R300xx has mods also. For some reason R40162 was sold as a Coach, but its still a R3xxx HST car.

Yes they are very similar and interchangeable.  The DVT does not have opening doors so they are not identical. Also and be careful you will need to unscrew the lighting boards and these are absolute  swines to do. Also be careful with the drivers desk when you take it out as the seats are very fragile and easily snapped.  (Don’t ask how I know this)
