DCC points single core wire

Hi all,

 

I need suggestions which single core wire I need on my points for soldering the little pieces from rail to rail for better DCC operation please?

YouTube mentions using some of the spare length attached to the frog but I've cocked up and now I've none spare to use.

I use single core wire stripped from Cat5E network cable.

Over here it's 26AWG, I'm not sure what the equivalent UK size is.
