NYMR annual steam gala 2023 - 50th Anniversary

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway have released the dates for their annual steam gala this year. The gala will run from the 21st-24th September and it'll also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the NYMR. 

It is currently unknown what the guest locos will be. I'll keep you updated 

 

 

As for the home fleet, the locos expected to be running are:

(BREAKING NEWS!) The NYMR have announced two guest locos that will be attending the gala:

 

A4 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley

 

9F 2-10-0 92214

 

It is currently unknown if a third loco will be joining the A4 and the 9F but it seems likely one will be. Watch this space.

Unfortunately, Q6 63395 is unlikely to be attending the steam gala. This is due to the loco suffering a failure of the right-hand cylinder while working a train out of Grosmont early in May this year.

It's been known for a while but unfortunately 825 and 76079 won't be attending the gala as well. 76079 had been withdrawn from service for overhaul a year early and is stored at Pickering carriage sheds. 825 is stored at Grosmont, out of service for the foreseeable future.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

 

The NYMR have announced not one but 2 more guest locos that will be attending the gala!

 

Joining 60007 and 92214 are BR Standard class 4MT 75069 from the Severn Valley Railway and Caledonian Railway 2P 55189.
