Andy_Richards
Hello I want to run my loco lights independently, I have a 4 function decoder. Am I right in thinking I can run the headlight using F0 and then run the tail lights independently using F1 & F2? Does anyone have a wiring diagram they could share? Thank you Andy
RMweb Premium Ray H Posted April 29, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 29, 2023 Is the decoder an 8 pin on a lead or one of the other multipin decoders? Do you know the decoder's make?
Jim Easterbrook
It's not the wiring you need to change, it's the decoder function mapping. This varies with manufacturer (and maybe decoder model) but I've had no problem getting all my locos to have directional headlights on F0 and directional tail lights on F1. It’s 8 pin, so I’m thinking the white and yellow will do the headlight direction depending. Then use the green an purple ( free from harness) to operate the tail lights independently andy
Jim Easterbrook
Doh! My mistake, yes yellow and white to white lights at each end, green and purple to red lights at each end. You can still use just F1 though - it should be possible to make it directional like F0.
