rob D2
I think I will experiment with the short board which can’t be seen as beyond the scenic break bridge . Currently thinking , bit of wood glued on either side with the cabinet latches , if that doesn’t give good alignment I’ll try the loose butt hinges . rob D2
So my solution is pictured below . I will paint the wooden blocks . 2 cabinet latches and a door bolt assure alignment back and forth and side to side . We will see how well it lasts
doilum
If there is too much play on the bolts , a trip to the model shop should secure some brass tube and rod that is a perfect internal fit. Yhe tube is soldered to a piece of brass or tim to act as a base and my screwed across the join. Once both sides are done the tube can be cut. The rod makes the perfect bolt. I have used this on several layouts to locate lift out sections and traverser fiddle yards. Edited May 12, 2023 by doilum
