greslet
I've finally started today on building my tribute to Whitrope Tunnel. Has anyone else attempted a representation of those great retaining walls in miniature?
RMweb Gold Iain Mac Posted July 31, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 31, 2023 A chap called Winston Cole built The south portal and retaining walls as part of a model of the tunnel to Bridge 201/Ninestanerigg cutting section of line. It would be worth asking the Waverley Route Heritage Association if they retain his photos in their archive. He brought a couple of sections to Whitrope for display many years ago, bridge 200, Whitrope Culvert and the north embankment, but he would write and send photos periodically of the overall layout. It was beautifully captured. Iain Mac.
