bridgiesimon
I have just acquired an N gauge Union Mills T9 which has a 6 wheel tender though it is presently in Southern livery so will be repainted and lined out. The issue is that I am struggling to find any info about which of the T9s ended up with 6 wheel tenders in later life. I expect there is info out there or on here but I am failing to find it. Any help will be most appreciated. Best wishes Simon
RMweb Gold RFS Posted July 9, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 9, 2023 (edited) Go to the SREmG.org.uk website, and you will find what you are looking for under prototypes , steam locomotives. The entry for the T9 has a page for tender allocations at the bottom. EDIT: Here's the direct link to the tenders section - https://www.sremg.org.uk/steam/t9class_ten.shtml Edited July 10, 2023 by RFS
DCB
Luckily for you most of the wide cab locos a la Union Mills ended up with 6 wheel tenders
bbishop
The story isn't quite that simple! The 1925 transfers received tenders from '700' class locos and were 13' wheelbase. The 1928 transfers eceived tenders from K10 class locos and were 14' wheelbase. There were later transfers (both ways?) so 707 received a 14' wheelbase tender in 1955.
