Midnight-Freight
I have a Bachmann class 66 with a Hornby tts chip in it. At the time of buying I also bought an I phone speaker as an upgrade on the one Hornby supply. I know the tts sounds aren't supposed to be premium but the 66 isn't too bad I don't think. I don't need more volume, and bass isn't the issue as they aren't really a bassy engine sound. Just thought there might be better options out there now as this was a few years ago. Chrisr40
Plenty of options on Roads and Rails page. I used a megabass square speaker and the class 66 chip in a Hornby 59 as there was no TTS for that model.
charliepetty
Any decent 8Ohms speaker will do, but never use 4 Ohms ones. On Railroad Diesel locos there is loads of space inside the models, so these are good: https://www.dckits-devideos.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=223_75&product_id=379 But on the normal Hornby Range where space is more restricted, these are ideal: https://www.dckits-devideos.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=223_75&product_id=380 The TTS Decoders due to there old design have a restrictive 8Ohms output, but with some of these modern speaker designs, they can be improved dramatically.
