Coach Lighting.

Are there any shops/small companies out there who fit coach lighting? I have a couple of sets of birdcage and a number of Mk 1's that need doing. I know there's a knack to this so it would be a good idea to have it done by somebody with experience.

DC coach lighting isn't that useful as it goes out when the train stops.   We have one Bachmann  restaurant car with factory lighting which is a pretty horrible blue colour, and a two coach set of Triang Suburbans with home made lights which is very realistic when ts moving, that has yellow LEDs one to each compartment, and each coach has a rectifier a capacitor and resistors etc with pick up through pin point bearings on axle ends using Lima wheels.

Realistically you need DCC or High Frequency  (HF) Lighting which Pendon was using 50 odd years ago. Like DCC the lights stay on irrespective of train speed.    If lights are fitted  it needs one LED per compartment otherwise it looks most odd.
