whart57
I have a PECO Smartswitch set and a couple of DCC Concepts AD1-HPs that I have somehow acquired over the years. What I would like to know is if it is possible to use the AD1-HP to provide DCC control to the basic Smartswitch set up. I know PECO do provide a DCC bolt-on but I am trying to avoid further purchases.
whart57
A bit of playing around seems to have provided some sort of solution. The DCC Concepts AD1-HP output turns out to be a second or so long pulse of 12v which toggles to a similarly long pulse of -12v when the Accessory decoder is switched from the DCC console. For the record I am using a Gaugemaster badged Prodigy set up. The relay switches nicely when the output of the AD1-HP is connected to the coil terminals and if the switch terminals are wired to the toggle switch points of the PECO Smartswitch box the appropriate servo activates. Function outputs from other DCC decoders could also be routed through a relay to operate the PECO servos I think.
