Modelling Doctor Who in 1:76 scale (OO gauge)

Recommended Posts

I realized I should have put some photos of what I've got up:

This is the Police box with the light on it. It's 3D printed and I brought it from Layouts4U at the model railway show held at Doncaster racecourse at the beginning of this year.

The second police box is a Hornby Skaledale model.

Last but not least, the Daleks!

I have 2 types of Dalek: the Invasion Dalek (left) and the Time War Dalek (right). I currently have 2 of each but I have ordered some more Invasion Daleks.

The Invasion Dalek was first seen in 'The Dalek Invasion of Earth' in 1964. Oxendale is set during the 60's so this Dalek fits the time period.

The Time War Dalek was first seen in the episode 'Dalek' in 2005, when the series was revived. The design is still being used today, its most recent appearance being in 'Power of The Doctor'.

It is generally held that the McCoy portrayal of the Dr was the nail in the coffin of the entire thing ............................ until resurrected sometime after by the excellent Christopher Eccelston.

Yes, along with other classics like "Daleks can't climb stairs"... 🤨

I think we have to look to scheduling and one of the current Lords Temporal (ironically enough) as much as anything else.

I do wonder sometimes if the time-lords invented the TARDIS in the age old quest to find more space for a model railway......

It may be around the houses and expensive, but there are 3.75" figures of the Doctor, and I think one of the budget supermarkets is selling them off cheap, including a Sensorite set including the first incarnation. Then you can get the figure 3D scanned and printed, then paint it?
