Saxon IV K
So, I wanted to add a passing loop to my tiny "layout", and I realised something. This layout is made in Scarm with Roco H0e tracks, because those are the ones that I already have. But there's a small gap here at the passing loop. And since I'm far from a "proper" modeller, I wanted to ask, will this be a problem when I assemble the layout in real life?
RMweb Premium BluenGreyAnorak Posted October 21, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 21, 2023 No, it won't be a problem. There is far more tolerance in real life than in digital form (seems to be a general rule, too 🙂).
doilum
Only feed a point from the toe end. Don't put the power supply inside the loop.

cypherman
Hi Saxon, Try using the free version of Anyrail 6 and see if the same thing happens in that. But if it is a small gap as has been mentioned here it probably will not be a problem.
RobinofLoxley
That gap is in effect shared with five other joints on the loop. So suppose the actual gap turns out to be 4mm, thats 0.8mm per joint. When insulated joiners are used, they have a small spacer at the centre about 0.8mm thick to keep the metal track ends separated. Realy thats nothing.
