Hi,

I blame the cumulative effects of vuvuzela exposure, but just noticed this two parter:

UNITE AND DEVIDE Showing on Tuesday 13th 9pm BBC4

POWER AND PRIVILEGE Showing on Wednesday 14th 9pm BBC4

Previous Indian Railway programmes shown first on BBC4 have proven to be of very high quality in that they have actually been about the subject, quite informative and well filmed - the first two qualities sadly lacking from too many documetaries in recent times where 'entertainment' has seemed the overriding concern of broadcasters IMHO, I hope this continues the high standard set by Bombay Railway , India's Hospital Train and the Indian Hill Railways productionscool.gif

Regards, Gerry.

I look forward to seeing these except I'll have to wait for the repeats as I'm working. There are no scheduled times for BBC2 but I expect that it will follow onto this channel shortly.

BBC does seem to go for quality rather than the sensational. Each of the three Gerry Troya programmes (as listed in post 1) have been highly commended throughout the broadcasting world.

For those that haven't been I suggest that you go and enjoy India. I have been 3 times and will go again in the future. See India 2003, 2007 and 2010 in my fotopic. NG DHR B class steam, curry & beer ah if that's not railway porn then what is?
