Way Down Yonder - Somewhere in Louisiana (HO)

Recommended Posts

Tonight's progress on the background flat.

I've done a bunch of layers and washes but it's nowhere near done. A few more layers of both and then I'll attack it with chalks.

Then I can start adding downpipes, cables, AC units, lights, etc.

This morning's job was to stain some wood to build a skybridge for the large factory building, and to patch out the 40' PC boxcars.

This afternoon I'm hoping to make a start on the sky bridge but I guess we'll see if I have the spare time. :)

Today was a good day as one of my favourite locos arrived in model form.

This should allow me to sub out the stock and run the layout as being based in Savannah, Georgia rather than Louisiana. :)

I'll have to get some jazz music queued up on my Bluetooth speaker. 🤣

Whilst clearing off my work desk I moved the work in progress structures onto the layout to give a general idea of how it'll look.

I'm not sure the metal warehouse extension looks right at this stage. I might shorten it and add a concrete block tower on top to connect the skybridge to.

I think the metal extension looks ok.

How does it measure when positioning boxcars?

You could always adjust it so two are parked together beside doors. Thats if you're using the same size boxcars.
