7APT7
Hi Everyone These were the last photos I took of Peter and the layout when I left this evening... Sanding Down the 3rd layer of cork down to the 2nd layer as the Station Board was a little higher than expected so Peter used a 3rd cork layer and sanded it down to nothing or down to join flush with the 2nd layer... islandbridgejct
That's a blistering work rate. I particularly like the sweeping reverse curves, and the way they're dictated by the landscape. Trains are going to look fantastic running along that section. I almost get vertigo looking at that footbridge, like an even more extreme version of the road down to my favourite highland station, Strome Ferry (No Ferry). Alan Hi Alan I couldn’t agree more with you more, Peter does a great job at Modelling Layouts and he knows how things should look especially the way land lies, hills roll and rocks stacks should look, he has plenty of Photos to go on, although most of Peter’s work is off the top of his head for the most part. I love to take photos on Peters Layout because you can get them to look so real as in real life like with me, I love to try and take photos as if it were me standing right there taking the photo myself, urm, well I am, if that makes sense... ha-ha. Even with taking photos of Peters Progress over the fast moving progress in this last few day, I have for several shots as you have seen from my uploads on the photos above, I still take them as if I were there in real life and slowly watch the construction (even though its Landscape) take place so when I take the same photo again once Peter as competed the entire Layout, give you an even better idea and how much better it will look once all the flocking and greenery and tree's and many of Peter’s Diorama’s have been finished, not forgetting any building still to be done, on top of that to see a Steam Loco and a rake of coaches or a modern DMU, whatever we like to see running on it ourselves will look out of this world, because of how good Peter's Layouts are... More photo of the progress today will follow over the next few hours or so, as its beginning take even more shape with every photo I take... Keep watching this space, I'm sure Peter will appreciate all the comments for his hard work... I’m sure he will be happy to answer any question on how to do things, I know I have learn a lot just from standing next to him watching and annoying him with my camera in his face every 2 seconds or less (Ha-ha, Peter know I’m not joking) I would like to see it attend more shows in the future once it’s all been extended... 7APT7
Hi All Just some Photos Sorted in Order as it heads towards to Station... Jamie
7APT7
Hi All These Photos are of when Peter Joined the Boards together of what he thought the track was aligned up but upon looking the next morning had somehow miss matched in the height between the Station board and the next board... So Peter got straight down to work with altering and modifying the track to match so there was no skew-if track and that it was straight and all ran smoothly from one rail to the next adjoining board, the operation was completed and all sorted out, which delayed the process slightly... the unexpected hiccups along the way of making a Layout... All Comments to Peter are Welcome.... Jamie
7APT7
Hi Again Continue from the above Post... This also mean that the Single Rail was also miss aligned, so Peter got straight down to correcting the issue... Any Comments are most Welcome... 7APT7
Continue... Then there was putting the sleepers back in place on the Single Track... Jamie
7APT7
Hi All While waiting for the Sleepers to dry off, Peter got straight down to building the buildings... As you can see Peter spends a lot of time and hours just on buildings, yet alone on the building of the layout to put them all on... Jamie
7APT7
Hi All So ones all the Aggregate between the sleeper as set and stuck solid, Peter return back to the job suck up the job... Top Tip: Peter always uses his Rechargeable Hover to suck up all the excess bits that didn’t stick down and all that get recycled back in to the system, ready for when he uses that colour aggregate again, Peter does this for quite a lot of jobs and I must admit saves him extra money and also gets the full value for his money. Next comes the soldering of the Rails onto the sleepers (Copper Clad) Even I miss bits that Peter as done, I'd been standing next to this for a good few hours before Peter pointed it out to me, that he done some more work on the building below... 7APT7
Hi All This is the part I love to watch Peter done, and I think it's also Peter's many favourites that he as, that is disappearing all that behind the scene work by covering it with Plaster, This is where I think the Layout starts to take on its final shape as the rest of it will be flocking, this is the part Peter brings the Scenery it shape using is many shaping tools to create the right Cliff or Rock or Field and the Rolling Hill... Product Peter uses to cover the poly with is, the amount varies depending on how severer he wants it to look: 7.5kg Undercoat Plaster, Base Coat for finishing Plaster Any Questions for Peter... are welcome... trains12
Hi All Well here are a few shots of the ruined castle that is above the rock out crop. Cheers Peter
7APT7
Hi Peter Impressive... what scale is that... it appears to dwarf the rest of the layout... It an illusion, I see that from the 4th Photo down of the castle, you have to guess which one is nearer the Castle or the Abbey in the distance... mmmm or is it I say to myself.... 7APT7
Hi All I thought I would have a little go of bringing the real life photos into Peters work, normally this is done by adding Sky, but couldn’t quiet find the right angle of water, but that just means I am now on a mission to resolve that as I generally have plenty of photos in my back catalogue to add most things to give that touch of realism... I thought I would use the pictures that are looking down from the top of the rock tunnel, I have also added the original photo and also the modified after adapting it.... Enjoy...
