Fat Controller
Finding myself on the wrong side of Canterbury today, and wishing to avoid the traffic on Sturry Road a second time, I thought I'd go back the long way, via the Thanet Way and A2. This just happened to pass the premises of a new (to me, at least) retailer, Trains N Railways, just before the village of Herne. The premises are in a part of a collection of wooden chalets on the same site as some sort of animal park. There's not a huge amount of stock yet, but there's a broad spread of Bachmann and Hornby stuff, along with Peco, Gaugemaster, Humbrol, and undoubtably other stuff. Being unable to resist temptation, I ended up buying a weathered 56xx, which will end up at the head of a rake of coal wagons one day. It was ticketed at £46 (same as Hattons), but the chap behind the counter said they had a sale on, and knocked it out at a very reasonable £40. They have a web-site :- http://www.trainsnrailways.co.uk/
