New Waltham - 2

Thought I would have a go at posting some pictures. Seems to work but I cannot get the correct sequence so they are random in where they relate to the layout. Basically i have a dumbell double track system with an automated remote fiddle yard so that i can sit and watch 6 trains in each direction run at realistic speeds. I have also tried to follow the philosophy of finishing one section before starting another. Hence at the end of the row houses there is a blank where the next module should go. Layout is based on a section of the Grimsby to Peterborough line as I think it would have been if the proposal to upgrade it as an alternate to the ECML had been accepted

Great to see another LNER based layout with some unusual locos. I'd certainly like to know much more about the automated fiddle yard and the overall size and track plan, so will look forward to reading more as the thread develops.

Some more interesting pics. You may want to ask the mods to combine the threads. It's true you can only load 10 pics at a time, but you can add as many as you want to the same thread. There's no need to start another thread at all.

Speaking as someone who went to school in the real New Waltham: I'm sure I don't remember it being that steeply hilly!

True, but as one went out of Louth towards Spilsby there were a couple of pretty deep cuttings if my memory serves me correctly that could almost have been tunnels. Anyway, who cares? I had to get the track out to the fiddle yard. By the way the iron ore is on its way to its destiny with the Queens. I am currently trying to make a DVD video for my kids (right PITA it is too since I am a modeller not a computer geek), but as the photos come I will post some more and try to put together a track plan.
