Model Shops in Leeds?

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I'm going to be in the vicinity of Leeds station and Leeds University a week on Friday. There's a chance I may have some time to kill, any model shops in the area worth a look?

Thanks in advance.

If it's still there in the Merrion Centre there is the TMC, just on Hunslet Road is Model Depot. For general hobby stuff on Crown Point (near Tetley's Brewery) is one of the generic craft warehouses.

You are better going to Bradford for Frizinghall - not sure if it's easier from Forster Sq or Frizinghall station if going by public transport. Canal Rd.

Wakefield has the Wakefield Model & Craft Centre outside city centre but a short bus ride next to Morrisons on Dewsbury Rd.

Just off the A61 between Leeds and Wakefield (between Outwood & Lofthouse) is Going Loco - just get on a 110 from the bus station and ask for Pot Ovens Lane - near to the Sun Inn.

Hi

TMC isn't in the Merrion Centre any more, but Modelzone _is_, a few doors up from Home Bargains. Go into the Merrion Centre Market, and you'll find Craftwise with reasonably priced tools, Evergreen card, paints, and also Neville's DIY, also with tools, and boxes of bits & pieces on the counter. There's also Poundland in the St. John's Centre nearer the Headrow, with cheap(!) superglue, files, cutters, sharpening stones etc.

There's always the railway section to browse through in the Central Library next to the Town Hall.
