Gazza
They are Blackberry Way models, Model Express have better castings, the solebars and wagon irons are wrong. Ian G Hi Ian the, milk tanker you have done is fab, just wanted to ask, do you think I could use this type of Milk Tanker when they were used in the early 80`s for waste oil and anti freeze on BR depot days, Im trying to find something that would go on my depot layout Finsbury Park Depot from 1979 - 1983. Any thoughts anyone
Gazza
The shark kit is a now sold by PMRPR but still has David Parkins on the etch, I have replicated the wood beams with 1.5mm brass square I will scribe 10 thou plasticard for the planks on the inside, and plate the outside. The milk tank is in primer, I will paint the tank a dark green but I will not put any transfers on it, the chassis I have a HMRS sheet for that. The Sealion will be primed today I have it warming up inside in full sunlight. RMweb Premium TimC Posted February 5, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 5, 2010 Hi Ian You did some Model Express VAAs a while ago. Which transfers did you use? Also did you replace the buffers in the kit with Appleby's (and again if so which ones?). Cheers
Ian G
The buffers for the VAA came from Wagon & Carriage out of there bits & bobs tub at shows, it may be worth searching for them, I am unsure who produced them, the transfers where a mixture of Fox & HMRS, the next set I need for my second VAA I need to decide who I will get to make them. Ian G
I have put the transfers of both Boplates on one side, I am very happy with these transfers. Ian G
Ian G
Dogfish number 4 finished just a spot of weathering to complete, I will try and get the weathering close to my other 2 Dutch dogfish, next item for transfers is the 33/1, I am using Fox transfers for this and marking it up a 33108 for ease. Ian G
both sides of the 33 done, just the blue stars and warning flashes on the ends to do. Ian G
Ian G
I am in the process of weathering my 4th MMP dogfish, the brown is Revel matt 37 in a 4 parts thinner to 1 part paint mix put on with a brush and let to run and dry, this seeps out of areas that the solder has not reached, then a wash of weathered black on the out side. Ian G
brian daniels
That's very nice Ian. What colour/name is Revel 37?
Ian G
Brian the Revel matt 37 is the blue tin with the brown top in the first picture, it dries quicker than humbrol. The interior was given a thin wash of grey, a mixture of weathered black and white, I let it dry for a few days the lightly brushed the runs with a fibre brush, The 3 Seacows are finished all that is left to do is lightly spray over the models with Precision paints brake dust, Im trying to get a lot of my models finished for a club competion on Friday. Ian G
Both dofish and seacows have had there overspray of Precision Paints brake dust, this dulls down the rust colours and matts the whole finish. Ian G
