ECML180
I have decided to change the trackplan for Scawscarr, although not the name or location. It is no longer on a metro or electrified, it is one of the last stations of a fairly quiet railway line. All the local DMUs stop here and most terminate with the longer distance DMUs taking over and running onwards. It is a joint station with a preserved railway too! They have 2 platforms but only one is ever used, the station is long enough to hold 5 car DMUs on the mainline and 4 carriage loco hauled trains on the preserved railway, hopefully with my birthday soon a class 20 or class 108 will arrive to start passenger operations! We ultimatly intend to operate this as a fully working town including Faller Car System vehicles and most buildings featuring some sort of lighting! It will be DCC powered and is based simply 'post privitisation' with no strict timeframe but it is based in Yorkshire. Comments and questions welcome! (Attached are plans from the layouts initial plan as part of 'The Doncaster Metro', I won't be using this idea now, but I will probably keep it for my next layout, maybe for exhibiting?) ECML180
Thanks! I'm surprised it's actually understandable, it was such a jumble in my head!

ECML180
After finally dragging my way out of the radio studios(presenter holidays, we're such divas ) I've finally got some modelling done! Even if it is on the computer, these are going to form the walls around the platforms and car park: A bit of luck and these will go pretty much above the '3' on the plan and slightly to the right of it. There will be a road bridge over another road that goes into the car park, I think that makes sense! Any commend or ideas always fall on listening ears, so do share them! ECML180
Well this update brings a large change of design to change the station to having double track in one side but only a single line out of the other with a preserved railway operating on the disused (newly added) terminal platform, images attached! 153 sat in the station. Foreman parked at the preserved railway's shed. Overview. Pointwork for the network rail metals connection. Tunnels. Taxi depot/office being renovated. Delivery at the electricals store. Don't tell H&S about the lack of fencing
ECML180
I've been working on stock today: Weathering using Model Master's dye, very imprressive stuff and having bought a can at Peterbourough it looks like a few more orders will be placed soon I've also made my first ever wagon kit! A LNER CCT for storage on the preserved line, it went well except for the whole craftknife cutting the figner thing, the cut is about 15mm across and a good few deep! I assure the neighbours the shout of 'Oh Bother!' was necessary! Clean-Dirty Edit: The vehicular fleets have also increased size as has the list of buildings to build, hopefully I'll add a few photos and details through the week. Also half term starts next saturday so fingers crossed for some progress!
ECML180
Well illness and injury have kept me indoors and away from the layout, and as I enter the third week of random vomiting I think I'll have to steer well clear of the model, but I managed to snap a few photos as I gave the stock a run to keep them 'warm', here they are: I think I better add some weight to those open wagons, also the crossover near the camera will be replaced with a set of curved points hopefully! ECML180
Well the progress is continuing at a pace similar to that of a mobility-impaired snail. A large re-arrangment of the garage has left acess under the baseboards much easier via a crawl space over stored wood/ply/etc. We have also erected a pair of 3 foot shelves behind the layout to accomadate the fiddle yard. They will be moved as the next board is constructed, this 4ft board will bring us up to a total of 16ft long and 4ft+shelves(8in at a guess) wide. I have made attempts to start a card kit and I will hopefully provide a few updates on this and another kit I have in the works, but if the CCT is anything to go by, don't expect a masterpiece! A few lorries I found that look to be a good size, I reckon a depot may be in order. The crawl space, on the left. The shelves, the pair of sidings at the front are for the preserved railway and the shelves will be for the mainline.
ECML180
It's been a while! Sadly very little progress had been made but a few birthday presents arrive days after the last update and have been plonked outside, I am waiting for a few seated passenger figures then I'll make an attempt at detailing a taxi! In the meantime my modelling has been directed elsewhere, check out this for more frequent updates, and don't worry work will recommence in the new year! ECML180
As happens quite often I've changed the final/definative/unchangeble trackplan but this time to a simple terminus of a heritage railway, initial thoughts are a small station with run around loop capable of holding 3 mk2 coaches. There will also be a carriage shed/servicing facility and a small heritage bus depot! It will fit onto a 4x2 foot board with a 3ftx6in extention for exhibiting. Fiddle yard will be casettes! New Stock: Bachmann MK2 Blue/Grey-BSK & SO Mainline MK2 Chocolate & Cream SK & Restaurant Mainline MK2 Blood & Custard BSK Buses: Dennis Darts(Longer version second hand EFE, shorter was for xmas) Routemasters(1 second hand EFE, 2 found from my old toys! Corgi & Oxford) Unknown double deckers(1 second hand EFE) Plaxton Beaver 2(1 second hand EFE that my dad was drawn to...1 from old toys that is identical! Well done dad!)
