A long term project that has stalled for various reasons, The body wash a bashed up Triang 3F which has donated the footplate and splashers. The rest is plastic card, the boiler being built up on some brass tube.

 

 

 

 

An old Triang chassis which has been filled down. With the proper 21mm wheels it would not run as they scrapped the inside of the splashers, it now has 20mm Hornby wheels from their 9F and coupling rods from Mainly Trains.

 

 

 

They tender is a white metal one from an old incomplete K's Spinner kit. It will need a tender drive of some sort. Does anyone know of a 26mm+26mm wheelbase motor bogie?

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fittings are Craftsman ones I think.

You could try a Bull Ant or similar from motorbogies.com I got a 24x24 and it runs like a dream,expensive and a long wait for a bespoke one but has to be worth it,especially if you put all that work in on the loco

Thanks for the info' on the Bull Ant motor drive but I have recently acquired an old Hornby 2P motorised tender, I had to buy some replacement cogs for it and have yet to try to fit them. I'll update this thread as I go along.
