Sir Nigel Of Gresley
Hello all, I've just been onto Marc Models site and I see they have a 6 Wheel Pullman coach available. Whilst I'm not after one (yet!!), I did a trawl of google to find some photos of these carriages, but nothing turned up. Does anyone know where I can find some photos of these unusual carriages?? Many thanks, as always, in advance. Grant
Adam
Well, there is one - or, more accurately what used to be one (it was put onto bogies as long ago as the 1880s) - under restoration at the moment on the Yorkshire Dales Railway: http://www.statelytrains.com/pullman-balmoral-of-1882.shtml Adam
Nick Holliday
The six wheel vehicle is a Pullman Pup, a brake van owned by the LBSCR and fitted with a generator to provide electricity for the passenger carrying Pullmans. A finished example althugh woithout wheels can be seen at http://early-lbscr.co.uk/transfer/models/PupTrans.jpg
Sir Nigel Of Gresley
Cheers Nick, that's the vehicle. Are there any dimensioned drawings or photos of these vehicles in service? Grant
