6th Annual Steam Gala at Locomotion

Hello,

 

We just wanted to let you know about the next exciting event at Locmootion: The National Railway Museum at Shildon - our 6th Annual Steam Gala on Saturday September 25 & Sunday September 26.

 

The event line-up will feature A4 4468 Mallard and V2 4771 Green Arrow, joined by four guest engines in steam:

 

• GNR N2 No. 1744
• LNER D49 No. 246 Morayshire
• J72 No. 69023 Joem
• Furness Railway No. 20

The event will feature a passenger steam train service hauled by different locomotives, and visitors will be able to access the footplate of these locomotives in light steam before their turns on the trains.

 

What's more, historic model Orion will be in steam, and visitors will be able to enjoy a miniature railway ride, thanks to South Durham Model Engineers.

 

There'll be vintage traction engines, a fair organ, displays by heritage railway societies, plus also model railway traders offering everything you need to enjoy your modelling hobbies at home.

 

The event is open to visitors from 10am to 5pm, and parking and admission is FREE.

 

Tickets are also avaialble for a very special photography session from 5pm to 7pm on Friday September 24, where railway and photography enthusiasts can take photographs of our beautiful locomotives being prepared for the event.
