DavidB-AU
The Australian National Film Unit and its successors made a lot of documentary films from the 1920s to the 1980s. Film Australia is digitally remastering much of its collection and putting some of them on Youtube. Journey of a Nation (1947) Commissioned as propaganda, it won several awards as a documentary film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZNmQMye1KM Rail Town (1952) A thinly veiled advertisement to move to Port Augusta, South Australia and work for the Commonwealth Railways. Made at a time when Australia had full employment and a severe labour shortage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQC1Sw0wy6o On Time (1953) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVvff2Jf1a4 Shades of Puffing Billy (1967) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOopJzYBrqM I'll add more as they appear in the collection.
