Some snaps on the Mid Hants and Swanage

The Matford crew stopped off at the Mid Hants on the way to Scaleforum last Friday and at Swanage on the way back yesterday (well you have to have lunch somewhere).

The Mid Hants was not running a public service but there was a day of footplate experiences going on. After cabbing the Black 5 at Alresford we headed up to Ropley. There we were kindly invited into the signalbox (relocated from Netley)

Before the Black 5 arrived to exchange tokens, take on water and depart up the line

The shed at Ropley can provide images that look just like the early 60s

In passing we must mention how friendly and helpful all the Mid Hants staff we encountered were as we wandered around on a non-public day.

At Swanage yesterday we were very pleased to see the M7 on service duty in SR black livery with sunshine lettering

Another "60s" shot with the Standard 4 tank on the turntable

After watering the M7 heads back to its train and departs
