bertiedog
From Ebay tonight, a purchase of a set of four very rare brass and cast metal 00/HO Sayer Chaplin Signal lamps, these must be about as rare as it gets finding several together in a group. These were manufactured about the 1950/52 period, by Sayer Chaplin Ltd, at Ipswich. The seller says the lamps are blown in the Ebay listing and it's written on the cardboard boxes, so replacement GOW or LED bulbs will be needed to restore the signals to full operation, Not bad condition for items nearly 60 years old. bertiedog
A small query, were these signals continued with in production with "Acro" for a period after the Sayer Chaplin factory closed? A friend seems convinced these are Acro despite the boxes, which look correct and I have seen Sayer Signals in the past as well. Either way worth 99p pence each!!! and I am pretty sure they are Sayer Chaplin items. Stephen.
